An all-new series with an all-new hero! Sam Stone will take your breath away.

Deep down, six hundred and forty feet underground, danger lurks... Jenny Strafford and her fiance, Stone, are out for a dinner date with friends. It’s supposed to be fun, romantic even, but the setting leaves much to be desired, at least for Jenny. She’s not fond of enclosed spaces, or being underground. What starts out as a fun evening soon turns into a dangerous struggle to survive. In order to protect Jenny, Stone must fall back on his military police training. And even those hard-won skills may not be enough to save the love of his life - and over a hundred other innocent people trapped underground with them.

Excerpts

Ahead, the tunnel funneled into a smaller area where the visitors to the museum were to wait for their turn to board the lift. There was no outlet there. Once they went into that area, the tunnel that they now crept down would be at their backs, and it would be their only avenue of escape, other than going up to the surface in the lift. The gooseflesh upon her arms grew larger and she shivered in dread. She longed to tell Stone to be careful, but the words froze in her throat for fear that anyone guarding the lift would hear her. She looked down at the gun in her hand and double-checked the safety to make sure it was off. She had the nervous urge to pull back the slide and view the bullet in the chamber again, just to make sure that she hadn’t imagined the first time she’d done it. Her hands felt clammy with nerves, so she carefully wiped one and then the other on her jean clad thighs to dry them, palming the gun in the opposite hand as she dried each one. Behind them, an agonized scream erupted from the dining cavern. The raw sound of pain sent an icy blade of dread skittering down Jenny’s back. She glanced back toward the cavern. Stone turned too, and in that moment, their adversaries struck.

Review: DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT by Sarah Mlynowski

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT by Sarah Mlynowski is a fast-paced young adult read that will have tweens & teens flipping pages quickly right up until the end of the book. Author Sarah Mlynowski has crafted a fantastical adventure, complete with endearing characters, snarky dialogue, teen angst, relationship drama and a whole homeroom full of students with ESP.

A good novel for teens...

Recently, I picked up a copy of the first book in the WaterKeepers series for Kindle: Deep Blue Secret. I admit that I downloaded it because it was free. And, it currently still is free for Kindle here. However, after I began reading it, I was hooked.

The author, Christie Anderson, has masterfully created a novel that pulls you in and keeps you guessing. I quickly finished book one in the series, and moved on to book two, Rogue Wave, and then book three, Ambrosia Shore.

One thing I really appreciated about the books was the fact that there was "NO explicit sexual content or profanity" in them. Kudos to the author for keeping that content out of the books, so that teens can enjoy a good story without having to read explicit content too.

The writing style of these books is geared towards teens, but adults will enjoy them too. If you're looking for a good novel to read, you might take a look.

Here's the blurb from the first book as it appears on Amazon.com:
California teen Sadie James thinks her life couldn't get any better. She has great friends, an energetic mother she adores, and the beach practically in her own backyard. But her carefree life is turned upside down when she's rescued by a mysterious and strangely familiar boy who won't even tell her his name. Each time the boy appears, Sadie's unexplainable attraction to him deepens along with her need to unravel his secrets. The boy is there to protect her, but as wonderful and exciting as it might be to have an irresistible boy with crystal green eyes protecting her every move, every minute of the day...why does Sadie need one? As Sadie finds answers, she realizes her life isn't as perfect as she thought. Not only is she caught in a world of dangerous secret agents she never knew existed, but it turns out her true identity may be the greatest secret of all.

Book Blurb: Rising Darkness by Thea Harrison
